How Do Payment Types Work in Commmerce POS?

  • This Article is for stores running on Commmerce POS

Follow the steps below to use different payment types during checkout:

Step 1. Log in to Commmerce POS and navigate to the Sales screen (as shown in "1"). Add the required products to the basket and proceed to checkout (as shown in "2").

Step 2. To accept a cash payment, select Cash (as shown in "3") as the payment method. Enter the amount received from the customer. If the amount received exceeds the total sale amount, Commmerce POS will automatically calculate the change to be returned. Confirm the payment to complete the transaction (as shown in "4").

Step 3. To configure UPI payments, navigate to Store Settings, scroll down to the UPI section, and enter the required UPI ID or address (as shown in "5").

Step 4. Return to the Sales screen, add the required products to the basket, and proceed to checkout. Select UPI as the payment method(as shown in "6"). The QR code or UPI address will be displayed on the screen or configured payment device (as shown in "7").

Step 5. Ask the customer to scan the QR code using their UPI app and complete the payment. Once the payment is successfully received, the Payment Successful screen will appear (as shown in "8").

Step 6. To accept a card payment, add the required products to the basket and proceed to checkout. Select Card as the payment method (as shown in "9").

Step 7. If a card payment device is configured, ask the customer to use their debit or credit card on the connected device. Follow the instructions displayed on the device to complete the payment. Verify that the payment status is updated in Commmerce POS (as shown in "10").

Step 8. To use Pay Later, add the required products to the basket and assign a customer to the sale. Proceed to checkout and select Pay Later as the payment method (as shown in "11").

Step 9. Confirm the transaction to complete the sale without collecting payment immediately (as shown in "12"). The outstanding amount can be tracked against the customer according to your configured Credit Book settings (as shown in "13").

Step 10. To accept payment through multiple payment methods, proceed to checkout and select Split Payment (as shown in "14").

Step 11. Enter the amount to be paid using each payment method. For example, allocate part of the total amount to Cash, Card  and the remaining amount to UPI (as shown in "15"). Continue until the full sale amount is covered (as shown in "16").

Step 12. Review the amounts allocated to each payment method and confirm the payment. Once the required payments are successfully processed and the full sale amount is covered, the transaction will be completed (as shown in "17").

Step 13. After completing a sale, you can print the invoice using the configured printer or send it to the customer through Email, SMS, or WhatsApp, depending on the available options
